In April 1981 my mum and dad took me for a trip on the soon-to-be-withdrawn Hull to New Holland ferry on the river Humber.
In this video we look at my father's photographs and also some taken more recently and shared under Wikimedia commons licence 2.0.
Firstly we briefly run through the history of the Humber ferries and the railways of New Holland, North Lincolnshire's answer to Crewe!
