Every year pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya Converge at Maralal, Samburu County for the International Camel Derby, a sporting event meant to foster peace among the communities that clash over the limited pasture and water. Since inception The Maralal Camel Derby has attracted scores of participants among them a father and son duo, who have never missed a tournament for the past 24 years. Brygettes Ngana caught up with them and brings us the story.
