Nine Car Hornby Class 801/2 LNER Azuma featuring the R3762 5-car Train Pack and R40350 4-Coach Pack

Running session of the a nine car Hornby LNER Azuma featuring the R3762 Class 801/2 LNER Azuma 5-car Train Pack and the R40350 4-car Coach Pack.
DCC Sound is provided by a Loksound 5 decoder with Legomanbiffo sound in the power car only.

Note that the 5-car set has had it's lighting altered with white LEDs versus the reddish LEDs that come as standard. The four cars from the expansion pack still have their original lighting so you will notice the different colour temperature across the different cars.

Th running session was filmed in darker lighting conditions than normal in order to better see the coach lighting. While I much prefer the white LEDs in the modified cars, I wasn't pleased with the brightness levels having seen the results in this video. As a result, I have worked on a further enhancement to this lighting "upgrade" to increase the brightness and stay alive time.
I will be cover this in a follow-up video.

The cars in the four coach expansion pack have quite a high running resistance which was manifest in much higher current consumption while running. While perhaps not apparent in the video, the power car is noticeably struggling at start up and I suspect inclines could be particularly challenging for a nine car configuration not to mention the life of the motor if continually running at the higher speeds.
