How did Ultron kill Thanos so easily?


In the recent marvel what if series, an alternative version of Ultron uses the mind stone to cut Thanos in half, claiming the infinity stones for himself and ending the mad titans quest. This left many fans confused and upset, who rightly wondered why vision didn't simply zap the titan in half during Infinity war. However, an explanation has been given by the director of the episode. He claimed that there are infinite versions of the Ultron vs Thanos confrontation and in many of them, Thanos would have won. Perhaps this version of Thanos was more arrogant and unprepared for a confrontation with another infinity stone wielder and this is what led to this Thanos ultimately losing to Ultron so easily.
