A pregnant lady must go through the delivery process beyond the term period of pregnancy, depending on the patient's condition, whether vaginal/normal or caesarean delivery is preferable. It is the doctor’s responsibility to take care of both the mother and the baby. If the patient’s condition is good enough then the doctor always goes with normal delivery however when the condition of the patient is delicate then the doctor usually prefers caesarean delivery.

Nowadays, caesarean delivery is safest because of the antibiotics and new techniques like anaesthesia and it is seen that the patient can do any kind of physical activities like eating, walking, passing the urine etc., on their own within two days of the surgery. Before discharging the patient after a cesarean section the doctor thoroughly examines her and also carries out activities like making her comfortable with feeding the baby without any problem along with other normal activities before handing over the baby to the mother.
