Discover Almeria, Spain - beautiful city centre. 4K Walk tour

Almería is about to become hot property in the travel world. Much of the rest of Andalucia’s main cities like Malaga, Granada, Seville are already well known, but Almería has mostly flown under the radar so far.

Founded by the caliph of Cordoba, this Andalucian city on Spain’s southeast coast is a reminder of the region’s Muslim history. The Alcazaba, a massive fort, dominates the city and affords amazing views. Also worth experiencing are the cathedral and the Almeria Museum. East of the city is the rugged, desolate Cabo de Gata-Nijar coast, a protected area. To the west is the resort area of Roquetas de Mar, featuring vast beaches.

It’s less crowded than many of the other Andalucian cities, it has an interesting history you can still see today, and the food is amazing.

The province of Almería offers pleasures which are hard to come by in the Mediterranean: over 100 Km. of untamed coastline, and landscapes of outstanding beauty.
