Spanda Yoga can be described as a form of vibration yoga. The word "Spanda" comes from the ancient Sanskrit term meaning vibration, pulsation, or movement, and it refers to the subtle, dynamic movement of consciousness or the inner vibration that exists within everything in the universe, and which you can enhance and tap in during this dynamic yoga asana.
In the context of Spanda Yoga, this philosophy is rooted in Kashmir Shaivism, a non-dual tantric tradition of Hinduism. According to this philosophy:
Spanda is the creative, vibrational energy that underlies all existence, including the body, mind, and universe. It's the pulsation of the divine consciousness.
The practice of Spanda Yoga focuses on tuning into and experiencing this inner vibration. Through meditation, breathwork, and physical asanas, practitioners seek to align with the flow of this cosmic energy.
Key Aspects of Spanda Yoga (Inner Vibration Yoga):
Awareness of Inner Pulsation: Practitioners are encouraged to become aware of the subtle vibrations or movements within their body and mind. This might be experienced as the natural rhythm of the breath, heartbeat, or the quiet vibrations of consciousness.
Unity with Cosmic Consciousness: The inner vibration (Spanda) is seen as a reflection of the universal vibration. By tuning into it, practitioners aim to connect with the greater divine pulse or the flow of universal consciousness.
Meditation and Breathwork: Spanda Yoga emphasizes meditative practices that direct attention inward, cultivating a deep sense of inner stillness and subtle movement. Breathwork can be used to feel the inner pulsation of life force (prana) and consciousness.
Dynamic Stillness: One of the central ideas in Spanda philosophy is that even in stillness, there is movement. This refers to the belief that within the quiet of meditation or deep inner awareness, the vibrational energy of the universe is still present and alive.
Spanda Yoga is often referred to as "vibration yoga," because it is centered on the experience of the subtle, pulsating energy (spanda) and the bodily representation of it. The practice helps practitioners connect to this vibrational essence through meditation, breath, and awareness of the movements and the Kundalini raising releases of bio-energy. This series of 3 was just scratching the surface, you can breath more intense, and shiver longer and more intense, and then your releases will become more orgastic. So orgastic that you know what can happen...it is the highest state of connecting to the divine to be able to feel those intense feelings happening on a vibrational level after the physical exercise. Not for nothing this yoga is kept secret and is sacred, because we do not want people misuse these ypgaforms for just you know what I mean.
