【御陣乗太鼓について】
天正4年（1576年）、越後の武将上杉謙信は能登の巨城であった七尾城を攻略し、その余勢をかって名⾈村へ攻めてきた。村⼈達は、村の古⽼の指⽰に従って、樹の⽪を剥いで仮⾯を作り海藻を頭髪とし、夜陰に乗じて太⿎を打ち鳴らしながら上杉勢に攻め⼊った。上杉勢は思いもよらぬ怪物の出現に恐れおののき退散したと伝えられる。

【団体について】
昭和36年、⽯川県輪島市の無形⽂化財に指定。昭和38年、⽯川県指定無形⽂化財に指定される。その後、東京オリンピック前夜祭、⼤阪、愛知万国博覧会のオープニング、天皇陛下御即位奉祝パレード、NHK紅⽩歌合戦などに出演する。また、ヨーロッパ、アメリカ、中東、アジアなど世界15カ国以上で公演を⾏なっている。


【About Gojinjo Ⅾaiko】
In 1576, Echigo military commander Uesugi Kenshin invaded Noto’s great Nanao Castle, and under that momentum, also invaded Nafune Village. The villagers, following the instructions of the village elders, made tree bark into masks and used seaweed as hair, and beat their drums and attacked Uesugi’s forces under the dark of night. As the legend goes, the Uesugi forces were so frightened by the appearance of the monstrous creatures that they retreated.

【About the Group】
In 1961, Gojinjo Daiko was designated an intangible cultural property of Wajima City, Ishikawa. In 1963, it was designated an intangible cultural property of Ishikawa Prefecture. Since then, the group has performed in the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games’ Eve Festival, Osaka and Aichi Expo Opening Ceremonies, the parade to celebrate the enthronement of the Emperor, NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen, and more. They have also performed around the world in more than 15 countries in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
