महाराष्ट्र में महानगर पालिकाओं के चुनाव नतीजे आ गए और मुख्यमंत्री देवेन्द्र फडणवीस महाराष्ट्र के सबसे बड़े लीडर बनकर उभरे. देवेन्द्र फडणवीस की भविष्यवाणी सही साबित हुई और उद्धव की सारी उम्मीदों पर पानी फिर गया. उद्धव ठाकरे राज ठाकरे के साथ मिलकर भी अपना आखिरी गढ़ नहीं बचा पाए. पहली बार मुंबई में BMC पर बीजेपी का कब्जा हो गया. पूरे महाराष्ट्र में उद्धव ठाकरे से बेहतर प्रदर्शन एकनाथ शिन्दे की पार्टी ने किया. पुणे और पिंपरी-चिंचवाड़ में अजीत पवार और शरद पवार मिलकर भी बीजेपी को नहीं रोक पाए लेकिन दूसरे इलाकों में भतीजा, अपने चाचा पर भारी पड़ा, शरद पवार की पार्टी की हालत सबसे बुरी हुई.

In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, even the combined efforts of Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar couldn't stop the BJP, but in other areas, the nephew proved stronger than his uncle, and Sharad Pawar's party suffered the worst defeat.
