The body of 26-year-old Lamnunthem Singson, an Air India cabin crew member who died in the Ahmedabad plane crash on June 12, was brought home to Manipur's Kangpokpi district on June 19 amid grief and ethnic tensions. Her remains were received in Dimapur, Nagaland, instead of Imphal due to ongoing conflict in Manipur. From Dimapur, a solemn convoy carried her body home, halting in Kohima where Kuki mothers and community members offered prayers and tributes. Singson, who belonged to the Thadou tribe and had relocated to Kangpokpi after ethnic violence in 2023.
