Abandoned Millionaires Island OVER 100 Mansion's w/ Cars Left Behind

In this second episode of my Montserrat documentary series, I take you deep into Richmond Hill—once an exclusive paradise for millionaires, now a forgotten world frozen in time.

Perched above the Caribbean with sweeping views of the sea, this neighborhood was once home to Montserrat’s wealthiest residents. Lavish beach mansions, private pools, and luxury cars once lined these quiet streets. But everything changed in 1996, when the Soufrière Hills volcano violently erupted—coating the island in volcanic ash and forcing an emergency evacuation. Families fled in a rush, leaving their homes and even their prized vehicles behind.

Now, decades later, I’m stepping into the ruins they left behind.

From abandoned mansions still filled with personal belongings… to children’s bedrooms untouched, and rusted-out sports cars buried in volcanic ash, this journey is one of the most surreal I’ve ever filmed. Inside one home, I found old photographs, forgotten record collections, and even a calendar frozen in 1993. In another, a luxury BMW and a rare imported Volkswagen sat untouched for over two decades. Some homes felt like time capsules. Others, like scenes from a post-apocalyptic film.

Along the way, I battled through overgrown thorn bushes, climbed through shattered rooftops, and explored floors nearly caved in from years of decay. But it was worth it—for what I found tells a story of beauty, tragedy, and nature’s overpowering force.
