Airwave YGK Industry Intro: Getting Your Music out There with Marc Garniss and Chancelor Maracle!
On August 21st 2025, CFRC hosted another engaging Airwave YGK Workshop brought to our community through the generous support of Kingston Arts Council and the City of Kingston.
The free workshop, held in CFRC 101.9 FM's lounge (62 Fifth Field Company Lane) was led by Marc Garniss, co-founder of KPP Concerts, Spring Reverb and The Broom Factory and also Executive Director of the Kingston Canadian Film Festival. Marc recorded and toured with metal band I Hate Sally from 2001-2008, playing all over Canada, the US, and Europe, and released two albums on Underground Operations/Vagrant Records.
At this event, participants learned about getting their band booked, applying to festivals, procuring booking agents, touring, funding, and other tips and tricks for emerging musicians and bands.
CFRC Technical and Music Manager Chancelor Maracle also shared details on how local musicians can submit music to CFRC and other campus/community radio stations easily anytime!
