Philly's annual Made in America presented by Roc Nation was 3 weeks away when suddenly it cancelled. 50,000 attendees stunned and 1,000+ vendors stranded. The city was about to take a quick and sudden blow.
Still traveling through Europe at the time, I heard the news but also saw an opportunity. Immediately I started calling and trying to see what we could do in such short time. Thanks to a vacation turned work-cation and my hometown community, we pulled off a home grown festival featuring Philadelphia’s some of the city's finest talent.
The day was filled with raw performances, shared energy, and real cultural pride. We didn't have as much as Made in America would have. But we had the people, the music, and the moment. And that was enough. They say it was like our own Made in Philly but...
