CHEESE POTATO BALLS:
Makes : 8 balls , Serves: 2
INGREDIENTS:
FOR THE BALLS:
Potatoes (Aloo) - 300gms (boiled)
Maida/ All purpose flour -4tbsp
Red Chilli Flakes (Lal mirchi ke beej)- 1 tssp
Oregano/ Italian seasoning- 1 tssp
Salt (namak) - 1 tssp
Mozarella cheese- 50gms ( for stuffing)
FOR SLURRY (lijam ke liye):
Egg (anda) -1 nos
Corn flour (arraroot) - 2tbsp
Water (pani) -1 tbsp
Bread Crumb (bread ka choora) - 1/2 cup
Refined Oil ( tel) for cooking.
PROCEDURE:
1. Mash potatoes to form dough and add red chilli flakes, salt, oregano and maida to form a dough. Make 8 equal sized balls.
2. Cut mozzarella cheese into small cubes and stuff inside the balls. Roll tightly into balls again.
3. Now make a slurry of egg, cornflour with some water.
4. Keep some bread Crumbs handy.
Coat the balls one by one in the egg slurry and then into bread crumbs. Take care not to mix slurry and bread crumbs. Roll well till the balls are completely coated with crumbs and are dry to touch.
5. Now deep fry on high flame first and then on medium- high flame till golden and crisp. Try not to disturb much to avoid opening of the balls.
6. Serve hot with sauce of choice.
