Facebook Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that helps protect your account by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password when you log in.
How It Works:
When you enable 2FA on Facebook, you’ll need:
1. Your password
2. A second authentication method, such as:
• A code sent via SMS to your phone
• A code generated by an authentication app (like Google Authenticator, Duo, or Authy)
• A security key (a physical device like a USB key)
• Facebook’s login approval prompts via the Facebook app
Why Use It:
• It adds a layer of protection to your account.
• Even if someone knows your password, they can’t access your account without the second factor.
How to Enable 2FA on Facebook:
1. Go to Settings & Privacy Settings.
2. Click Security and Login.
3. Scroll down to Two-Factor Authentication and click Edit.
4. Choose your preferred security method and follow the prompts..
