প্রথম পর্বে প্রাইভেট নার্স প্রিয়ংবদা ভৌমিক ধনী ব্যবসায়ী শঙ্খনাথের দেড় বছরের মেয়ে পিউ-র সেবা করার ডাক পায় এক ঝড়-বৃষ্টির গভীর রাতে। কাজের ফাঁকে শঙ্খনাথের অসুখী দাম্পত্য জীবনের সম্পর্কে জানতে পারে সে। শঙ্খনাথের নিজের মেয়ের প্রতি ভালোবাসা প্রিয়ংবদাকে তার নিজের বাবার কথা মনে করিয়ে দেয় বারবার। ডিউটি শেষে পিউ-এর ডাক্তারকে দেখে চমকে ওঠে প্রিয়ংবদা। তিনি প্রিয়ম্বাদার পূর্ব-পরিচিত মন্মথ কর! যিনি এককালে প্রিয়ংবদাকে অন্যায়ভাবে কামনা করেছিলেন।
