Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, also known as Trivandrum Airport, is the second busiest airport in Kerala and the fourteenth busiest in the country. Established in 1932, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is the first airport in Kerala, and it started its global operations in 1977. Trivandrum Airport was declared an international airport in 1991 by the then Prime Minister V P Singh. In addition to civil operations, the airport caters to the Coast Guard and Indian Air Force (IAF) for their operations.

Spread over 700 acres, Thiruvananthapuram International Airport is situated at a distance of 3.7 km from the city centre. Strategically located at the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent, it serves as a popular hopping point from India to Maldives and Sri Lanka. The airport's IATA (International Air Transport Association) code is TRV.
