Lama jang 'bod
'Calling the lama from afar'
Spoken in natural spontaenity in the form of meaningless chatter by the unparalled Yogi of dzogchen Dudjom Rimpoche to his vajra deciple Jigme Chhoying Norbu

Translation adapted by a dweller of samsara Sherab Dorje།།

ངོ་བོ་གདོད་ནས་མི་འགྱུར་སྤྲོས་བྲལ་གྱི་གཤིས་ལུགས།།
Ngo wo dod ne mi gyur troe dral gyi shi lug
The nature of perennial truth is devoid of action
ཀ་དག་གཏིང་གསལ་གཞོན་ནུའི་བུམ་སྐུ་རུ་བཞུགས་པ།།
Ka dag ting sel zhon nui boom Ku ru shug pa
Residing in the depth of clear space in the vase-like form of a child
ཆོས་སྐུའི་བླ་མ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེ་དེ་མཁྱེན་ནོ།།
Choe kui lama Yeshe dorje dey khyenno
I beseech you lama, the vajra wisdom of dharmakaya
ལྟ་བའི་གདིང་ཆེན་ཐོབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རང་རློབས་ཤིག།།
Ta wai ding chen thop par bying gyi rang lob ship
Bless me, that I can realise the depth of the greatest view
རང་བཞིན་མ་འགག་ཟུང་འཇུག་འོད་གསལ་གྱི་ཚོམ་བུ།།
Rang zhin ma gag zung jug osel gyi tshombu
The unbreaking nature of dual existence in union of clear light
ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ངེས་པ་ལྔ་ལྡན་རོལ་པ་རུ་བཞུགས་པ།།
Lhun drup nge pa nga den rol pa ru zhug pa
Exists in the bliss of self- illumined display of five certainties
ལོང་སྐུའི་བླ་མ་བདེ་ཆེན་རྡོ་རྗེ་དེ་མཁྱེན་ནོ།།
Long kui lama dechen dorje de khenno
I beseech you lama, embodiment of great bliss sambhogakaya
སྒོམ་པའི་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས་པར་བྱིན་གྱི་རཅ་རློབས་ཤིག།།
Gom pai tshal chen zog par jin gyi rang lob shig
Bless me, that i can perfect the skills of great meditation
ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཕྱོགས་ལྷུང་བྲལ་བ་མཐའ་གྲོལ་གྱི་ཡེ་ཤེས།།
Thug je chhog lhung dral wa tha dral gyi yeshe
Unbiased compassion is the wisdom beyond duality
ཀུན་ཁྱབ་རིག་སྟོང་རྗེན་པའི་ངོ་བོ་རུ་བཞུགས་པ།།
Kun khyap rig tong jenpai ngowo ru zhugpa
The ever-present essence of rigpa in pervading space
སྤྲུལ་སྐུའི་བླ་མ་འགྲོ་འདུལ་གླིང་པ་དེ་མཁྱེན་ནོ།།
Trul kui lama dro dul lingpa de khenno
I beseech you lama, the nirmanakaya tamer of beings
སྤྱོད་པའི་བོགས་ཆེན་འབྱོངས་པར་བྱིན་གྱི་རཅ་རློབས་ཤིག།།
Chod pai bog chen jong par jin gyi rang Lob shig
Bless me, that I can cultivate great skills on the path
རང་རིག་གདོད་མའི་གཤིས་ལ་འཕོ་འགྱུར་ན་མི་འདུག།།
Rang rig dod mai shi la pho gyur ni mi dug
Of unwavering nature is the primordial self-awareness
གང་ཤར་ཆོས་སྐུའི་རྩལ་ལ་བཟང་ངན་ནི་མི་གདའ།།
Gang shar chhoe kui tsal la zang ngen ni mi dah
The spontaneous arising darmakaya Is beyond good or bad
ད་ལྟའི་ཤེས་པ་སངས་རྒྱས་མངོན་སུམ་དུ་འདག་པས།།
Da tai she pa sang gye ngon sum du dug pe
The awareness of ‘now' is the very buddhahood in truth
གུ་ཡངས་བློ་བདེའི་བླ་མ་སྙིང་དབུས་ནས་རྙེད་འབྱུང།།
Gu yang lo de lamai Snying ü ne nrye jung
In the vast expanse i am contented to find my Lama in the heart
སྙུག་མའི་སེམས་འདི་བླ་མའི་རང་བཞིན་དུ་རྟོས་ཚེ།།
Snyug mai sem dhi lamai rang zhin du tog tshe
When the innate awareness is found to be the nature of the lama
འཛིན་ཞེན་གསོལ་འདེབས་གཅོས་མའི་སྡུག་ཡུས་ནི་མ་དགོས།།
Dzin zhen sol deb cho mai dug yu ni ma goe
The blind endeavour of grasping and letting go is no longer a need
མ་བཅོས་རིག་པ་རང་བབས་ཁ་ཡན་དུ་་ཀློད་པས།།
Ma choe rigpa rang bab kha yen du loe pe
Being in the self-dwelling flow of pure awareness
གཏད་མེད་གང་ཤར་རང་གྲོལ་བྱིན་རླབས་དེ་ཐོབ་འབྱུང།།
Te me gang shar rang drol jin lab de thop jung
I am blessed with the self-arising nature of liberation
བྱས་པའི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སངས་རྒྱས་འགྲུབ་དུས་ནི་མི་གདའ།།
Je pai choe kyi sang gye drub dhue ni mi dah
Contrived practices seldom leads to buddhahood
ཡིད་དཔྱོད་བློས་བྱས་སྒོམ་འདི་བསླུ་བྱེད་ཀྱི་དགྲ་རེད།།
Yi chod lo jed gom dhi lu jed kyi dra re
Meditation induced by the mind is a deceitful enemy
ད་ནི་འཛིན་བསྟངས་ཞིག་པའི་དོན་མེད་ཀྱིསྨྱོན་པ།།
Da ni dzin tang zhig pai don me kyi nyonpa
Now devoid of grasping and letting go is this useless madman

བྱུང་རྒྱལ་གཅེར་ཉལ་ངང་ལ་མི་ཚེ་སྐྱེལ་སྟོང།།
Jung gyal cher nyal ngang la mi tshe di kyel tong
Spent this human life in the flow of naked and idle sleep
གང་ལྟར་བྱས་ཀྱང་དགའོ་རྫོགས་ཆེན་གྱི་རྣལ་འབྱོར།།
Gang tar je kyang gao dzogchen gyi nal jor
Joyful is he the yogi of dzogchen, in whatever he does

སུ་དང་གྲོགས་ཀྱང་སྐྱིདདོ་པད་འབྱུང་གི་བུ་་བརྒྱུད།།
Su dang drog kyang kyid do pejung gi bu gyud
Happy is he the son of Pema Jungne, with who ever he befriends

མགོན་ལ་འགྲན་ཟླ་མེད་དོ་གཏེར་ཆེན་གྱི་བླ་མ།།
Gon la dren dha me do terchen gyi lama
Peerless is my refuge, the great terton lama

ཆོས་ལ་དོ་ཟླ་མེད་དོ་མཁའ་འགྲོའི་སྙིང་ཐིག།།
Chho la do da me do khandro yi nying tig
Peerless is his teaching, 'the heart of dakinis'
མོང་ཆེན་སྙིང་གི་མུན་པ་རང་མལ་དུ་སངས་ནས།།
Mong chhen nying gi mun pa rang mal du sang ne
Great clumsiness that defiled my heart is self-liberated
འོད་གསལ་ཉི་མ་འགྲིབ་མེད་འཁོར་ཡུག་ཏུ་འཆར་བའི།།
O sal nyima drib me khor yug tu chhar wai
The radiant clarity of the sun pervades day and night
སྐལ་བཟང་འདི་ཀོ་ཕ་གཅིག་བླ་མ་ཡི་སྐུ་་དྲིན།།
Kal zan di ko pha chig lama yi ku drin
This great fortune is but the grace of my only father lama

དྲིན་ལན་འཁོར་མཐའ་མེད་དོ་བླ་མ་རང་དྲན་ནོ།།
Drin len khor tha me do lama rang dren no
Unrepayable is your kindness, lama i think of only you.
