STORYLINE:
Protests have erupted in Tanzania following a disputed election, with demonstrators taking to the streets of the commercial capital Dar es Salaam for a second day on Thursday.
Amnesty International reports that two people have died.
The government shut down the internet, imposed a curfew, and deployed the military after protests began on Wednesday.
The ruling party, in power since 1961, barred main opposition candidates from running.
Turnout was low, and chaos ensued as protesters burned a bus and vandalized polling centers.
Amnesty International has called for investigations into police use of force.
The government has not commented on casualties.
