I went and saw Alabama Shakes at the Greek Theater at UC Berkeley. I am a fan of this band and I am familiar with their songs, however, I must say this performance blew the roof off of the enitre theater! The singer, Brittany Howard, has a powerful, beautiful, and resonating voice, and I feel like they could hear her two cities over. Their music is a little blues, church, country, and rock and roll. The vibe in the theater was wonderful. The concert opener was the ban Shannon and the Clams, which were such a vibe. Everyone felt happiness, sadness, and hope hearing their lyrics. This was truly a cathartic night of music for everyone.
