Tiled clones in Inkscape give you a huge range of creative possibilities, allowing you to cover an area with a repeating pattern, create mosaics from images, make halftone effects, produce logarithmic spirals, place objects evenly around a circle and more. So taking a little time to understand exactly what the Symmetry, Shift, Scale, Rotation, Blur & Opacity, Colour and Trace tabs are for and how to use them is time well spent. I take a look at each tab in turn and demonstrate how to use them, combining the different functions to produce the effects you want to achieve.
There was a lot to cover in this video so I’ve split it into 2 parts, in Part 1, I cover the Symmetry, Shift, Scale and Rotation tabs. Blur & Opacity, Colour and Trace will be covered in Part 2. But don't panic, there are a lot of tabs but most work in a similar fashion, once you understand one the rest will be easy.
