Bennington is a town in the United States in Bennington County, Vermont. It is one of the county's two shire towns (county seats), the other being Manchester. According to the 2010 US Census, the population is 15,764. Bennington is the most populous town in southern Vermont, Vermont's third-largest town (after Essex and Colchester), and the state's sixth-largest municipality (including the cities of Burlington, Rutland, and South Burlington).
