Ray (Neville Buswell) tells Janice (Paula Wilcox) to find a job and to stay away from Len (Peter Adamson). Audrey (Gillian McCann) gets sent a mysterious bunch of flowers. Stan (Bernard Youens) discovers Minnie (Margot Bryant) is owed £2, 7/6 from the Christmas Club money. Dave Smith (Reginald Marsh) offers Len and Ray jobs. Annie (Doris Speed) invites Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) back to the Rovers with a reduction to her rent. Emily demands assurance that she won’t be evicted again. Hilda (Jean Alexander) predicts Minnie will receive money, but Ena (Violet Carson) is skeptical. Stan tells Hilda to start offering fortune-tellings professionally. Dave discovers his car has been stolen.
