Chula Vista — A suspected drunk driver led Sycuan Police on a late-night pursuit Sunday that began at Sycuan Casino and ended in a residential neighborhood in Chula Vista.
The incident started around 11:20 p.m. on August 10, when Sycuan Police attempted to pull over a pickup truck for suspected DUI. The driver refused to yield, sparking a pursuit that lasted roughly 25–30 minutes.
The chase traveled along SR-94 eastbound, SR-125 northbound, SR-54 westbound, and I-805 southbound before exiting at Olympic Parkway and continuing into the 1500 block of Melrose Avenue.
Video from the scene shows the driver pulling into a front yard before surrendering to officers without further incident.
The suspect was taken into custody on charges of DUI and felony evading.
