Shenzhen Dapeng Dongshan Temple is located in Pengcheng Village, Dapeng New District, Shenzhen. It overlooks Daya Bay, with mountains behind and the sea in front. The scenery is extremely elegant and beautiful, covering an area of ​​4,000 square meters.
Dongshan Temple was built in the 27th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1394 AD). It is a famous Lingnan temple that inherits the "Dongshan Dharma" of Chinese Zen Buddhism. It has always been popular. It is the belief center of local scholars and people, and it is also a place of cultural gathering. There are pagodas, stone archways and other cultural relics on the west side of the temple, and there is an ancient "Longjing" spring. There are more than ten inscriptions, couplets, banners and other ink marks from past dynasties in the temple. The temple has four entrances, namely the Dashan Gate, Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall, and Sutra Library as the central axis, and the two sides are Jialan Hall, Zushi Hall, Merit Hall and Fushou Hall, equipped with bell towers, drum towers, monks' quarters, guest rooms, guest halls, vegetarian halls, Zen halls and Sixth Patriarch Lecture Hall.
Dongshan Temple has been rebuilt three times in history. The first renovation was in the spring of the fourth year of Emperor Xianfeng's reign (1854). In 1993, local people, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots and overseas Chinese spontaneously donated more than 1 million yuan to start the second renovation of Dongshan Temple. In 2009, the third renovation was carried out. According to the Records of Xin'an County in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, "Dongshan Temple is located on the mountain outside the east gate of Dapengso. In the middle is the Guanyin Hall, on the left is the God Hall, on the right is the Wenchang Pavilion, and in front is the Three Treasures Hall."



深圳大鹏东山寺位于深圳市大鹏新区鹏城村，俯瞰大亚湾，背山面海，风景极为幽雅旖丽，占地面积为4000平方米。
东山寺始建于明朝洪武二七（公元1394年）年，是传承中国禅宗“东山法门”的岭南名刹，历来香火旺盛，是当地士民的信仰中心，亦是人文荟萃之地。寺西侧有佛塔、石坊等文物，有古“龙井”清泉一眼。寺内留有历代碑刻、楹联、横额等墨迹十余处。寺院四进，即以大山门、天王殿、大雄宝殿、藏经楼为中轴，两旁为伽蓝殿、祖师殿、功德堂和福寿堂，配以钟楼、鼓楼、僧舍、客房、客堂、斋堂、禅堂和六祖讲堂。
东山寺历史经历过三次重修。 第一次重修在清咸丰四年(1854年)春。1993年，当地群众和港澳同胞以及海外华侨自发捐资100多万，对东山寺展开第二次重修。2009年，进行了第三次重修。据清康熙《新安县志》中有记载：“东山寺，在大鹏所东门外山上，中为观音堂，左为上帝殿，右文昌阁，前三宝殿”。
