Vampyr is so underrated and has masterful acting and great dialogue

When the game was first announced, I was cautiously optimistic. Then when it released I saw it was getting bad reviews which unfortunately put me off the game. Then, when it was made a free game on PlayStation Plus, I felt it was the perfect time to give it a shot and I am so glad I did.

Dontnod made this game and they’re mostly known for Life Is Strange. Which I loved. But Vampyr really sits above the rest of their games in my opinion.
I think in terms of gameplay, it’s okay. Nothing too fancy but nothing bad either. The way the world is and how to traverse it is my biggest issue. Especially for a mission called Unnatural Selection. If you know, you know.

What I loved about this game though was the decision making, story, lore and of course, the pinnacle of the game’s excellence: The Dialogue. Not just the dialogue though. The way the dialogue is acted is a masterclass in acting. Dr. Johnathan E. Reid’s actor (Anthony Howell) stands out amongst them all. Everyone is very good and he gives a mesmerising (pun intended) performance.

I feel the same as I do with Days Gone in that Vampyr is an underrated and under appreciated gem of a game. It deserves so much more recognition and respect than it got. I was genuinely floored by the performances everyone gave. Especially Anthony Howell.
