Theta, Equi, natural and outer join are different types of join operations in the field of database management systems (DBMS).

Theta join is a type of join operation in which two tables are joined based on a condition other than equality. It is a non-equijoin as it doesn't use the equal sign to join the tables. Instead, it uses a comparison operator such as "greater than," "less than," "greater than or equal to," etc. to join the tables. The result of a Theta join is a new table that contains all rows from both tables where the specified condition is true.

An Equi join is a type of join operation in which two tables are joined based on equality between two columns of each table. The columns used for joining are referred to as the join condition. The result of an Equi join is a new table that contains all rows from both tables where the join condition is true. Equi join is also known as an inner join.

A natural join is a type of join operation that combines rows from two tables based on the common columns between them. The common columns are determined based on the column names, and only the rows with matching values in the common columns are included in the result. Unlike an Equi join, a natural join doesn't require a specific join condition to be specified.

An outer join is a type of join operation in which all the rows from one table are included in the result, along with the matching rows from the other table.
