Join us in this emotional journey as we introduce you to five incredible families whose lives have been profoundly impacted by The Shea Center. This video premiered at The Shea Center's 45th Annual BBQ and Family Faire on September 23, 2023.

Meet Alex, a courageous 13-year-old with Cerebral Palsy, and her parents, Christina and Dylan. They share how Adaptive Riding at The Shea Center has granted Alex purpose and independence since she started riding in 2016.

Keri opens up about her daughter Ava's journey. Despite an Angelman Syndrome diagnosis, Ava's participation in physical and occupational therapy utilizing hippotherapy has led to her walking beautifully at just 8 years old.

Caleb's parents, Steve and Suzi, discuss their son's journey. Diagnosed with Down Syndrome, Caleb's progress in physical therapy utilizing hippotherapy has allowed Suzi's dream of holding his hand and walking side by side to become a reality.

Jesse, a 7-year-old boy diagnosed with Autism and his father Stephen reveal how occupational therapy utilizing hippotherapy has significantly enhanced Jesse's motor skills during his time at The Shea Center since 2022.

Sally, Lindsey's mom, shares how 13 years of physical therapy utilizing hippotherapy at The Shea Center have not only enriched Lindsey's life, but also prevented her from undergoing hip surgery, a common path for children with Cerebral Palsy.

The Shea Center is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic horse-related programs. The Shea Center addresses over 69 distinct disabilities through a variety of programs that include physical, occupational, and speech therapies.

Accredited at the “premier” level by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.), The Shea Center is internationally recognized for its excellence in therapeutic programs. It is also a therapeutic riding training facility drawing interns and students from around the world.
