Yesterday you may have spotted me on the regional BBC news down in Devon, on the river Dart. I went to see the incredible project titled The Melt.
“The Melt” is a public art project by Anthony Garratt, rooted in the idea that the action of painting can build an emotional response to unfamiliar landscapes.
The Melt consists of three huge 5m long structures showing incredible paintings by landscape artist Anthony, of icebergs photographed by explorers over the last century.
I am so honoured that Anthony felt inspired by my circumnavigation attempt and I’m grateful for the opportunity to go and see the paintings with him, as well as polar explorers Jim and Sam.
What a great day we had ☺️ The paintings are seriously very impressive and well worth a visit!
