Real-time cab footage with audio*, from a freight train in New Zealand hauled by a refurbished EF class electric locomotive, as it travels from National Park to Owhango, part 1 of a journey from crew change at National Park in the Central North Island, to the Te Rapa yard in Hamilton.
The GoPro overheated some time after Owhango due to direct sun exposure and heat from filming on the southbound trip prior to crew change. For completeness, footage was included right up to the end of recording.
Part 2 will pick up from Taumarunui, where I cooled down the GoPro in the new in-cab refrigerator (added in refurbishment) during my meal break, and resumed recording before departure.
Audio will be muted during radio calls and Locomotive Engineer signal calls, to protect the privacy of all involved.

Footage captured by GoPro mounted on the 2nd Person's side, out of the driver's line of sight, and not touched until the train was stationary and brakes were applied.
All rail personnel are blurred for their privacy.
