Takoon pump 1700 - Pumfoil review

I had the opportunity to try the Takoon Pump 1700 foil. It's primarily a foil for beginners and intermediate users.

My impression was that it didn't have much glide, less than the Gong Sirius XL, more like the Sirius L. Without much adaptation, I was able to pump it and turn, but weighing 70kg, I couldn't relax and had to pump very actively to avoid failing, which made me tire quickly.

In the video, I fell because the foil came out of the water, but I only used it for about 10 minutes. So, like all foils, I understand that with more use and getting used to how it works, my perception would improve somewhat.

I also tried it with a large beginner stab, so with the wide range of stabs that Takoon offers at a good price/quality ratio, I'm sure its performance can be improved.

The great thing about this foil is its unbeatable price, and you can
use it to get started, and once you can pump for 30 seconds and turn well, you can reduce the stab, upgrade to a larger wing like the 1900 or the
advanced Takoon Pump Pro. You can even use it for surfing simply by changing the front wing without spending much money.

In short, if you're looking for a foil to start with, I'd look at a used low-aspect foil. But if you want to buy new, this foil or the 1900 (depending on your weight) is, in my opinion, the best value for money. Of course, as soon as you learn, you'll want to upgrade, but the brand itself offers options without needing to replace your entire setup, and at reasonable prices.
