10hp 15hp Chrysler outboard gearbox oil seal replacement in leg top

How to change your top oil seal in a Chrysler outboard leg.


You need to undo the 4 bolts holding the leg on at the bottom, put the motor into reverse so it will lower it about 10mm more then you can undo the shift linkage 5mm hex screw.


It will fall out.


Then undo the water pump 4 screws you will need a hand impact or a very tight fitting flat head screw driver big one so you can get good grip on the screws don't strip them.


Remove the water pump all just pulls of.


Then get a seal puller or big pair of pliers.


Pull old seal out put new seal in.


Put the whole lot back how it was removed you are done to get the leg up again so it flush with the motor after you put the shift linkage screw in put the motor in forward gear.
