Thoughts
Out of the 4 Great Traverses, I would rank this one 3rd "hardest". The 3 difficulties are definitely more technical than what LB/B has to offer, but it was never hard to find a hold due to the ledge-like nature of the mudstone on those particular sections. While the 2nd difficulty was the most exposed, the 3rd difficulty was the trickiest due to the thin dihedral (I had chose the right 2 of the options). My 25L backpack made it problematic as it was wedged pretty tightly in there.
Perhaps the best part is having a break from a long approach. Having a parking reservation (which is now required; you must print it out and place it on your windshield) makes it much easier than most routes. If you don't have a reservation, you can start from Aspen Highlands resort (I did this for Pyramid and really wish we had a bike because it adds a lot of mileage).
