BIR RUNNING FESTIVAL 2025 - HIGHLIGHTS | Hanumangarh Epic | BIR HALF MARATHON

The Bir Running Festival 2025 happened to be a simulation of an experiment that we have always wanted to try in short distance racing at Hell Races. The idea is to bring in exceptional runners from different communities who are otherwise known for their endurance and athletic abilities.

The fact that India is full of such communities in different regions is inarguable and this year, we thought of making it a clash between the best of the best we have seen in India. A race line up that has some one from the north east, from upper reaches of Himachal, from down south and then some one from the heart of India is an enriching experience to watch.

In the eventuality, at the Hanumangarh Epic of Bir Running Festival 2025, we saw the race getting faster by as many as 7 minutes, all thanks to Nimsang's first outing in Himachal. The fact that even the fourth finisher this year was 3 minutes faster than the third finisher last year is a testimony of how a strong competition can derive inspiring performances.

At the Half Marathon, we saw an epic chase between Prateek and Sudhanshu. This half marathon with some 676 m D+ of elevation gain got faster by as many as 14 minutes. Prateek Verma and Sudhanshu have just raised the bar for Half Marathons in India.

Among other highlights at the BRF 2025, was the turn out of the running community to support and witness the race. The very vision of creating this festival of running in Bir gets its meaning by the involvement of the community. As we move on from this festival in Bir to the one in the Greater Himalayas through the Manali-Leh highway, we will continue bringing you stories and tales from the Hell. Stay tuned.
