Drop your questions in comments -- i'm going to do a big series of chord theory videos eventually, but i'm happy to answer questions with quick videos if you have them.
I did a Vine of this playing 10 songs within 6 seconds (overlaying each other) like 15 years ago, but no idea what happened to that video... anyway, lots of folks have pointed this out over the years, but it seems the lesson has not yet stuck into people's heads.
So first, thanks for being here and trying to understand music theory! I'm here to nerd out on the chord theory, but for today, I'll keep it simple.

Ever notice how so many songs sound kind of the same — even though they’re completely different?
That’s because hundreds of hits use the exact same chord progression: I–V–vi–IV.
In this video, I sit down at the piano and play a bunch of familiar songs back-to-back to show how one simple progression can sound like everything — from classic rock to modern pop.
🎶 It’s not stealing. It’s just how music works.
Chords are the canvas — the melody, rhythm, lyrics, and emotion make the art unique.
