DIY Dip Dye Sarong (Turquoise/Rust)

DIY Dip Dye Sarong/Pareo, Turquoise and Rust! Here's a quick and easy way to make your own no-sew sheer sarong, using cotton gauze/cheesecloth. Get creative with your colors, you can mix the dyes to create custom hues that fit your personal taste and style. Turquoise and rust is a favorite color combination of mine.

Dylon Dyes I used:

Dye Bath 1:
Dark Brown

Dye Bath 2:
Dark Brown
Tulip Red
Sunflower Yellow

Dye Bath 3:
Bahama Blue
Tropical Green
Ocean Blue

Make the gradience any way you want, I loved the look of horizontal stripes for this sarong but you can do vertical, angled or even a random tie-dye effect.

Choosing your size! This is one of the best parts about making your own sarong. You get to choose the proper size that fits you best, so you'll be able to tie it and wear it all kinds of fancy ways.

Choosing fabric. You are the designer, feel free to choose whatever type of fabric you prefer, but make sure to choose one that works well with the dye you'll be using. The gauze/cheesecloth fabric is usually available in natural and white. Either will work, but I recommend using white, it takes the dye more evenly. If you prefer more coverage, try a lightweight or semi sheer cotton, instead of the cotton gauze.
