Betla National Park is a beautiful and diverse wildlife sanctuary located in Jharkhand, India, in the Latehar district. It is one of the first national parks in India to become a tiger reserve under Project Tiger (in 1974). The name "Betla" is derived from the words Bison, Elephant, Tiger, Leopard, and Axis deer, which are some of the key species found in the park.

Area: Approximately 1,026 sq km (including the buffer zone).
Flora: Dense tropical forests with Sal, Bamboo, Palash, and other vegetation.
Fauna: Tigers, elephants, leopards, sloth bears, Indian bison (gaur), chital, sambars, langurs, and peacocks.
Birds: Rich avian diversity with species like hornbills, parakeets, and owls.

Betla Fort (ancient ruins within the park).
Waterfalls and scenic landscapes.
Jungle safaris and elephant rides.
Nearby Netarhat (a hill station) and Lodh Falls (Jharkhand's highest waterfall).
