10 LARGEST JUMBO KOI fish in the world

This video is only about Jumbo Koi, Big Koi Fish and Giant Koi! We show you some of the largest Koi in the world, with beautiful Jumbo Kohaku, Jumbo Chagoi, Jumbo Karashigoi and many more huge Koi Fish. Some of these Koi are even prize winners for Major awards at international Koi Shows. Some of them became Grand Champion, Jumbo Champion or Supreme Champion. Let’s dive into the world of big and expensive Koi!

But what actually makes a Koi grow so large? Well, that first of all starts with genetics of a Koi fish. Without the right genetics and correct bone structure, a Koi will never become a jumbo koi. But there is more then only having the right genetics. To reach giant jumbo size like the Koi Fish in this video, you have to be sure you can offer the right conditions for your Koi. A lot of space to grow out in, a low number of Koi in your ponds, optimal water quality and preferable low TDS and hardness levels. And next to that one of the most important factors is diet. In this video series we will show you 10 of the most Large, Jumbo and Giant Koi varieties around. Starring some of the following types of Jumbo Koi: Chagoi, Karashigoi, Ginrin Chagoi, Shiro Utsurimono, Mukashi Ogon, Kohaku, a Jumbo Kigoi and more! And of course you will only see JUMBO size in this video!

Jumbo Mukashi ogon: Mukashi actually means ‘old’ when translated from Japanese. The Koi is bronze coloured and has a metallic shine. It typically has deep fukurin, a kind of wrap of skin around each scale.

Jumbo Ginrin Chagoi: A brown one coloured Koi that usually grows quite large. However, this one is more unique because it has Ginrin scales. For Ginrin Chagoi it is not so common these grow to a jumbo size of one metres in length. The Ginrin Chagoi in this video won an award as Grand Champion B.

Taisho Shanshoku or ‘Sanke’: a white Koi with red markings and deep small black dots. The Sanke in this video won a Major award as Supreme Champion. It is true Jumbo size!

Jumbo Kohaku: A Koi with a white base with red markings on it. The exemplar in this video won the Jumbo Champion A title. A big Jumbo Kohaku with a three step pattern.

Jumbo Doitsu Karashigoi: the Doitsu Karashigoi in this video is real jumbo size with over 100 cm. Usually it are the normal wagoi Karashigoi that grow so big. This is one of the exceptions, a Doitsu (scaleless) Karashigoi. It won the title of Jumbo Champion B.

Jumbo Kigoi: A yellow one coloured Koi with a very big body posture. Typical for this variety is that they are quite calm and easy to hand feed.
Wagoi Karashigoi: A fully scaled Karashigoi with a nice yellow mustard colour. The Jumbo Karashigoi in this video is over 100 cm in length.

Shiro Utsurimono: the two coloured black and white Koi in this video is a Shiro Utsurimono. It is over 80 cm in length. That might sound not so big, but for a Shiro Utsuri it is true jumbo size! And it is still young, with a bright future ahead for even more length.

Jumbo Chagoi: we also have a normal wagoi Chagoi for you in this video. And of course a big Koi of Jumbo size. Chagoi usually have good genetics to grow into a Jumbo Koi.

Yamabuki Ogon: a yellow Koi with a metallic shine on the body. The Yamabuki Ogon in this video is jumbo size and bright canary yellow. And of course the Koi is monster size.
