Dr. Harmad Ali explores the complex interaction between genes and disease, revealing how our cells communicate through a silent biological language. The talk explains how genetic signals influence health and illness, helping us understand why diseases develop and how our bodies respond at the cellular level. Through this lens, he highlights the importance of genetics in shaping disease risk and future medical approaches. Harmand Ali Hama is a molecular biologist and Head of the Biology Education Department at Tishk International University, and a PhD scholar in Molecular Cancer Genetics. His research focuses on colorectal cancer genetics, leukemia patterns in Kurdish populations, and genetic risk factors associated with major diseases, with more than 25 peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter, and several reviews in human genetics, cancer biology, molecular medicine, ethnopharmacology, and public-health genetics. As an educator and researcher, he has supervised numerous academic projects, chaired and co-chaired national and international scientific conferences, and actively contributed to advancing biological sciences in the Kurdistan Region, with a mission to link molecular genetics to real-world health outcomes and empower communities through scientific knowledge.
