The City of Mississauga has prepared a draft by-law to increase protections for tenants facing evictions when their landlords want to renovate or repair their units. This is often referred to as the N13 process or a “renoviction.”
The City has prepared the draft by-law with input from tenants, landlords and the community.
The proposed by-law aims to strike a balance between supporting landlords who are making legitimate improvements to their properties and safeguarding tenants from unlawful displacement.
