心诚就是对祖师爷心诚，信服。首先得看祖师爷留下的经典，然后是去践行，自己有功德和福报了，就想什么来什么。有些人拜神是比较利己的，并不是心诚。甚至有些人拜神的手势都不对。第一步要先了解神仙是干什么的，留下了哪些经典，宝诰怎么念，道教上香应该怎么上，要合规矩去做事情。第二步就是了解道教的起源发展，了解道教经典，了解神仙是什么。要去看并相信这些经典。心诚则灵，需要忠一不二。包括有些戒律都不能全部做到，甚至放过一些不好的念头，糊弄自己。这些都是对祖师爷的不尊重。心诚则灵需要忠一不二，弄懂祖师爷的经典并且能到做，这时候就有那个能力了。Sincerity means being genuinely devoted and trusting towards the ancestors and deities.
