Could we live on Venus?

Earth’s closest neighbor is Venus. They’re almost the same size. Venus also has an upper atmosphere that is more earth-like than the surface of Mars.
In other ways, they’re worlds apart.
Please enjoy this practice animation I created about a fascinating planet, Venus!
Venus and Earth may be the same size, but Venus rotates much, much more slowly-- and clockwise! One day on Venus takes 243 earth days! That’s longer than a year on Venus, which is just 225 days! But the atmosphere around Venus moves very fast...it only takes 4 earth days to go around the planet!
Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system because it has a thick atmosphere of CO2 that traps heat. Temperatures on the surface of Venus are around 872F. The atmosphere above is so thick that standing on the surface, you would feel as if you were standing 3000 feet beneath the sea!
But further away from the surface, in the layer of sulfuric acid clouds surrounding Venus, things change. Winds are blowing at 220 mph but the pressure and temperature would feel more like earth’s! And the thick clouds would protect you from harmful radiation from the sun.
Although nothing could survive on the surface of Venus, perhaps one day we could create a life in the more welcoming clouds above it.
