After more than 6 months of dedicated treatment, care, and rehabilitation- "Miss Perrie" the Peregrine Falcon is finally soaring wild and free!
Miss Perrie was originally found entangled in barbed wire and rescued by the amazing carers at WINC in Port Stephens. She had a badly torn patagium (wing membrane) which was stitched up by the wonderful team at Edgeworth Medical Animal Centre.🏥
After several weeks in care, Miss Perrie was transferred to Port Stephens Koala Hospital to continue her healing process, before being transported by their dedicated team up to Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital (teamwork makes the dream work!🤝).
Our incredible veterinary team continued Miss Perrie's rehabilitation with laser therapy and physiotherapy, before moving her to our state-of-the-art Raptor Recovery Centre, where she spent the last few months building up her flight fitness and strength.
And now- she's back where she belongs - in the wild!
This massive effort could not have been a success without the dedication, passion and expertise of everyone involved, and is a true testament to the power of collaboration and love for our wildlife
