The Cabinet has approved the expansion of Delhi Metro under Phase-VA, marking a major step in India’s infrastructure growth.

33,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions reduced annually
60,000 office goers and 2 lakh visitors benefitted daily
Since 2014, India’s metro footprint has expanded from 5 cities to 26. The network length has grown from 248 km to 1090 km. Daily ridership has risen from 28 lakh to 1.15 crore, making Bharat the 3rd largest metro network globally and soon to be the 2nd largest.
New Corridors sanctioned:
1. R.K. Ashram to Indraprastha (9.9 km | ₹9,570 Cr)
2. Aerocity to Airport T1 (2.3 km | ₹1,419 Cr)
3. Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj (3.9 km | ₹1,024 Cr)
This expansion adds a new chapter to Delhi Metro’s transformation of urban life.
Aerocity to T1: Enhanced airport connectivity
Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj: Faster Noida and Faridabad to Gurugram link
R.K. Ashram to Indraprastha: Direct access to Kartavya Path and central offices
With this investment, Delhi Metro strengthens India’s broader infrastructure vision covering airports, highways, railways, industrial corridors, housing, hydropower and more.
