Fixing my high speed for the blower motor on my 1989 Pontiac Firebird.
Usually the high speed relay will go bad and that's all that needs to be replaced. I replaced mine a week ago and it still didn't fix it. After looking on some forums I found out that there's a connector that goes from the red wire on the high speed relay to a red wire in a bigger wiring harness towards the back of the engine. A lot of times that connector will corrode and cause the high speed to not work.
It looks like on mine that the previous owner had already replaced that wire connector with a wire nut. I am guessing that the wire nut was too small, or there was too much corrosion on the wires, and that's what was causing high not to work.
I went ahead and replaced the wire nut with a new one and now my high speed works! My A/C is much more useful now
