Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey Final Song (Steve Vai cover)

Before I ever sat down to learn the piano, I played electric guitar for about 6 or 7 years. Thankfully, as a teenager @chrisbuono taught me how to read music (seriously, thank you). In the late 90’s and early 2000’s I always tried to learn anything heavy-metal related I could get my hands on. From Dream Theater to Megadeth to Iron Maiden to Yngwie, I loved it all. But at a certain point I just totally lost interest. Like totally totally lost interest. And it‘s kind of been that way for a good 15 years. Though recently, thanks to the wonders of technology, playing has become enjoyable again. It’s so easy to learn and recreate anything you could ever want (and have it sound pretty good). So I decided to take a stab at recreating the music to the ending of Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, a movie I watched as a kid and to this day still think has one of the greatest endings of any movie I’ve ever seen. This is largely because of the very uplifting music @stevevaihimself wrote right before the Kiss “God gave rock and roll to you” song over the end credits. It’s playful and flashy and melodic and always left me feeling so inspired, I’ve just always wanted to figure out what the heck was being played. So I spent the other day transcribing it and another to mix/film this. Yeah there’s no piano once again, but I had too much fun making this not to share. I am also too lazy to start some other account for the occasional guitar video. Back to piano practicing.😎
