Officials break ground to expand Baltimore's Howard Street Tunnel

Gov. Larry Hogan and transportation officials broke ground Monday on the Howard Street Tunnel expansion project. The groundbreaking resulted from seven years of negotiations between the state, CSX and the Federal Railroad Administration. The overhaul of the 126-year-old tunnel, as well as 21 other locations, will allow double-stacked containers to travel by train to and from the Port of Baltimore. The governor said the project will have a tremendous impact on the state's economy, improve the flow of goods and generate thousands of jobs.
