Inspired by a combination of tragically true first-person testimonies, YUSSEF IS COMPLICATED follows the troubled tale of an Iraqi refugee, a war orphan struggling to deal with his new life at a local comprehensive school in the South of England.
The short film stars Alex Lawther known from the Netflix's series "The End of the F***ing World" and Miranda Raison, known from films such as "Murder on the Orient Express" (2017) or "My Week with Marilyn" (2011).
This short film won the People's Choice Award as Best Short Film at the TIFF Kids Internation Film Festival, Toronto, 2015.
