I found this video mixed in with some other tape. It was taken about 20 years ago, but I can't be certain.
Santo Domingo, D.R.
Begins with a street parade for the Día del Patrón, possibly the Día de los Reyes Magos, and it was just misspoken. I think he says Dia de Alta Gracia, which makes more sense. 21 January.
Then with my friend Sr. Domingo, and I'm complaining about the price of avocadoes....25 Pesos for one avocado!
(the kid holding the camcorder says "look at women" ha! and tapes the 2 girls walking down Calle Duarte)
Then it goes on to the Muñeca Bakery. The Salsa tune is playing in the background, "Quiereme Siempre" (Love me always)
Then back to the small Hostel where I was staying.
It ends with my friend Mariano, who has since passed away from complications of diabetes.
The "porcaria" meant the ruling gov't, "pigs" we both say over and over....ha!
