Die Geschichte handelt vom missgestalteten Glöckner Quasimodo, der in die schöne Zigeunerin Esmeralda verliebt ist.
Der Dompropst von Notre-Dame Dom Frollo hat jedoch auch Intresse an Esmeralda
Da es Dom Frollo nicht schafft, Esmeralda für sich zu gewinnen, treibt er sie in die Gewalt der Inquisition.
Am Ende stürzt Quasimodo seinen Herrn Dom Frollo von einem Turm der Kathedrale in die Tiefe. Er selbst stirbt am Grab der Esmeralda.

Because Dom Frollo does not win Esmeralda, he pushes her into the hands of the Inquisition. At the end, Quasimodo crashes his master Dom Frollo from a tower of the cathedral into the depths. Then Quasimodo, dies at the grave of the Esmeralda.
